    My name is Julie and this is my story so far….

    Like many of you I have been significantly overweight for some time, particularly since my last pregnancy, 10 years ago.

    I have always been the least likely exercise person you could meet. I have tried many different things, with varying levels of success. However they all ended up having a yo-yo effect on my weight.

    I have been training with Donna at Namaste PT's Fitness and Wellbeing Studio (formerly the Boiler Room) for the past 6 months and I have lost 15 kilos!!

    The program is economical and is actually FUN - I get annoyed if I have to miss a training session.

    Donna sends me through emails with regular fitness appraisals and supportive and encouraging words.

    The program includes exercising, sensible eating and weekly weigh ins and monthly measures - all of which I had tried before. I believe I have been successful with this program because I have had a Personal Trainer to teach me the important elements of weight reduction. These include:

    • Recording the number of calories I eat every day (complete pain in the butt to do however it provided me with extremely important information and insight)
    • Intensive exercise including cardio and strength, as well as warm up and cool down stretches to avoid injury
    • Huge variety of exercise programs to maintain my motivation and interest
    • Helping me to understand that I needed to take responsibility for my own health and wellbeing
    • Focus on my physical, emotional and spiritual journey and I think it's this focus that has made the difference for me this time - and it can for you too!

    My goal is to lose another 5 kilos by Christmas 2011 and to lose a further 5 kilos in 2012 as well as learning how to maintain my new lower weight over time.

    I can highly recommend Donna Day at Namaste PT's Fitness and Wellbeing Studio and the program that she teaches there.
